Katya Gromyko is currently a Law Clerk at CCSK Criminal Law and a Paralegal Candidate. She attended York University, Glendon Campus where she graduated First Class/Mention très honourable with a BA (Hons.) in Sociology in 2019. She also completed a Certificate in Law and Social Thought parallel to her degree. In 2020 she completed her Paralegal diploma with honours at Seneca College, where she also took on an executive role in the Seneca Legal Studies Student Association. Katya‘s expected licensing date is in late 2021.
Katya chose to pursue criminal law because she is aware of the access to justice issue that many people face. Not everybody can afford to retain a lawyer or is eligible for Legal Aid. As a future Licensed Paralegal, she hopes to help bridge the gap in the justice system for those in need of legal representation but are unable to afford it.
Katya is fluent in English, can fluently speak Russian, and has an ample understanding of French.
